Coolify has earned its following honestly: an open-source PaaS you install on your own server, deploy to from git, and pay nothing for. For side projects and small apps it is hard to argue with. Control Plane plays a different game: an operated platform that composes clouds, Kubernetes, and your servers into one virtual cloud, with the reliability engineering, identity, and compliance that production businesses get audited on.

Control Plane fits: the side project that became the business. What ran happily on one VPS now has paying customers, an enterprise prospect asking about SOC 2, and a founder who has personally restarted the server from a beach. Moving the containers to Control Plane gets failover, compliance, and sleep, and the old server can join the virtual cloud as a region instead of retiring.
