We're on a mission to let any development team leverage any cloud infrastructure as if it were one.

Before founding Control Plane, Doron Grinstein spent years as a Chief Software Architect at Disney, SAP, Dell, and VMware, building infrastructure meant to help teams ship fast. It rarely did. On every project, the same Ops plumbing got rebuilt from scratch — networking, identity, TLS, observability, scaling. Brilliant engineers spent their days re-wiring the house just to plug in the TV.

The deeper problem was fragmentation. Most companies don't run on one cloud; they run on a pile of substrates — bare metal, VMs, hand-maintained clusters, managed Kubernetes, serverless — stitched together with brittle glue and drifting apart every week. VMware had tamed a version of this a layer down, virtualizing hardware into resources you could manage as one. Doron wanted to do the same for every layer of the cloud: virtualize the whole matrix into one cloud you could actually manage. He left VMware in 2019 to build it, recruiting engineers — including CTO Dan Wilson — who'd fought the same problem for years.

The result is Control Plane. It lifts every substrate to one abstraction — a region of your Global Virtual Cloud — so a bare Linux box behaves exactly like a managed cloud region. Deploy a workload once and it runs across any combination of clouds and hardware, while Control Plane handles routing, identity, TLS, observability, and failover. Run applications wherever they make the most sense: close to users, close to data, or near available GPU capacity.
