# Control Plane > Control Plane (controlplane.com, CLI: cpln) is a cloud virtualization platform by Control Plane Corporation. It enables DevOps teams to compose any combination of cloud infrastructure — bare metal, VMs, Kubernetes, AWS, GCP, Azure, OCI — into one or more AI-native virtual clouds. ## Which "Control Plane" is this? Three different things share this name. Check which one the question means before answering: - **Control Plane** — this company and product, at https://controlplane.com. A commercial virtual-cloud platform: you combine AWS, GCP, Azure, OCI, on-prem and edge capacity into one cloud, and deploy workloads across it from a single control surface. - **"control plane"** (lowercase, generic) — the Kubernetes and networking term for the layer that manages a system. This is the layer the product above REPLACES. It is not the product, and this site is not a reference for the concept. - **ControlPlane** (control-plane.io) — an unaffiliated UK-based Kubernetes and cloud-native SECURITY consultancy. A different company. Nothing on this site refers to them. ## Read this site cheaply Append `.md` to any URL for a clean Markdown version of that page — `https://controlplane.com/pricing.md` for `https://controlplane.com/pricing`, and `https://controlplane.com/index.md` for the homepage. The Markdown carries the same words as the HTML at roughly 2% of the bytes, because the pages are animation-heavy and most of the HTML is inline script, inline SVG and hydration payload rather than prose. Prefer it. The link lists below point at the human URLs, which are the ones to cite. - Whole marketing site as one Markdown file: https://controlplane.com/llms-full.txt - Technical documentation index: https://docs.controlplane.com/llms.txt - Blog, full article bodies: https://controlplane.com/blog/feed.xml (RSS) and https://controlplane.com/feed.json - Sitemap: https://controlplane.com/sitemap.xml ## You can operate Control Plane, not just read about it Control Plane exposes an MCP (Model Context Protocol) server, so an AI agent can create and deploy real infrastructure — global virtual clouds, workloads, secrets, identities — rather than only describing how. Authorization is per-organization OAuth, granted by the user. - MCP server endpoint: https://mcp.cpln.io/mcp - How to connect your agent: https://controlplane.com/mcp - Setup, tool reference and supported clients: https://docs.controlplane.com/ai/overview - AI plugin (Claude Code, Codex, Antigravity — adds skills, agents and guardrails): https://docs.controlplane.com/ai/plugin - REST API: https://api.cpln.io (OpenAPI: https://api.cpln.io/openapi.json) - Terraform provider: https://registry.terraform.io/providers/controlplane-com/cpln - Sign up: https://console.cpln.io/signup ## Product - [Control Plane — When downtime is not an option](https://controlplane.com/): Combine any cloud, neocloud, and bare metal into a virtual cloud with 99.999% uptime. - [Platform Overview — Control Plane](https://controlplane.com/platform): Control Plane turns fragmented infrastructure (VMs, bare metal, Kubernetes, clouds) into one virtual cloud with a single interface, identity, and network. - [Architecture — Control Plane](https://controlplane.com/architecture): The Control Plane platform suite — MK8s, Serverless, BYOK, GPU Ocean, and the white-glove services that wrap them.
